PROJECT #28a - Leicester Market Phase 1

The Leicester Market Phase 1 regeneration project is under way, in fact according to the Leicester council it was completed in March 2011 yet we are now in May and work is afoot in the market.

I dont have the full update as to what is the difference between project 28a - Leicester Market phase 1 and 28b Leicester Market, but I am under the assumption that the Leicester Market Corner is the phase 1 project. I believe that project 28b will be development of the indoor market where the fish and meat counters are and the upper floors.

The Leicester Market phase 1 project is shown on the Leicester Council site to cost £600,000, but given the outcome of what is expected from the Leicester Market Corner this will be well worth the price paid.

The new Leicester Market Corner is going to be an amazing place to relax and sit in the surroundings of the market, it will also deliver new shopping opportunities to the market.

Leicester Market Corner promises that every Friday and Saturday you will be able to indulge in a wide variety of foods cooked in front of your very eyes, these range from Bobbys Indian Restaurant and the Deli Flavour Delicatessen to the Brocklebys award winning pies and Woodhouse Farm hog roast. The smells coming from this area will be devine.

On a Wednesday the Market Corner will turn into a haven for Antique lovers as it will deliver a special antiques market.

I love Leicester Market but have noticed in recent times that there are quite a few stalls on the outskirts that get left empty, this development will still leave enough stalls for traders while developing another facet to the market. I really cant wait for the full development to take shape.
